TITLE:  Administrator/CEO

LOCATION:  St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Administrator/CEO is responsible for day-to-day operations, strategic plan, overseeing facility financial and staff performance, ensuring the mission and values are present in the facility resulting in a positive culture, as well as implementing operational excellence i.e. quality of care/quality of life focus, compliance with federal, state, and local standards for operation, and maintaining state licensure.

§         Carries out policies and directives and practices that actively reinforce mission, core values, and corporate directives. 

§         Provides oversight, direction and development to the facility’s management team and staff.

§         Establishes and maintains positive interpersonal relationships with staff, residents, board, community, and all other constituents as characterized by open communication, trust and respect.

§         Maintains high quality resident and guest care.

§         Develops annual budgets and monitors budget performance; reviews financial status monthly and accounts for all variations; and ensures that all transactions provide an audit trail.

§         Maintains physical properties and recommends upgrades and replacement plans.

§         Reports to the board of directors and presents reports to them concerning finances and professional staff activities. 

 EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree (BA) in a business-related field with Long Term Care focus, Long Term Care Nursing Home Licensure, and experience in a values-based environment. Must have strong leadership, human relations, communication, and financial management skills. Personal values consistent with the BHS values and demonstrated ability to lead and a willingness to serve.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of the customer-focused, strategic and systematic approach to continuous organizational performance improvement; skill of implementing and reinforcing that approach among employees.
  • Knowledge of policies, systems, practices and procedures used to coordinate quality services and disciplines within long term care.
  • Knowledge of existing and projected variables that influence the budget; ability to set and manage a departmental budget; ability to take corrective action when results differ significantly from budget plans.
  • Knowledge of and experience in market and reimbursement strategies; Medicaid and Medicare PPS.
  • Skill in assessing the internal and external environmental factors, which have an impact on overall departmental success and developing departmental goals.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining positive internal and external working relationships and cohesiveness work groups.
  • Skill of dealing with diverse issues and opportunities in which (1) many problems exist simultaneously; (2) these problems all compete for immediate attention; and (3) the issues are inter-related.
  • Skill of selecting a course of action, considering appropriate variables and possible risks in order to solve a specific problem.
  • Ability to align mission, vision and culture of facility organizations with that of a sponsoring health system.
  • Experience in the development of a Position/Staffing Management System to include a strategic plan for recruitment and retention.

St. Rose Care Center is currently licensed for 44 skilled nursing beds and employs approximately 70 employees.
