  • MMark B. Deakark B. Deak, Executive Director

    Mark is an attorney in Government Relations. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Speech & Communications from Macalester College. He received the Degree of Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law. Mark has represented associations at all levels of government. He has worked with numerous health care organizations. Mark represents SDHCA at both the state and federal levels of government.
  • Lori Tracy, Assistant Executive Director
    Lori Tracy
    Lori is a licensed nursing home administrator. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Administration from the University of South Dakota. She is the Board Representative for the SDHCA Councils and works very closely with the various disciplines in the facilities. She plans all the educational offerings through the South Dakota Health Care Association. She also serves as the Executive Secretary for the South Dakota Medical Directors Association (SDMDA). SDHCA provides all the administrative duties for SDMDA and performs educational offerings.
  • LuAnn Severson, Director of Public Affairs & Professional Development
    LuAnn Severson
    LuAnn is a graduate of the University of Sioux Falls where she received her Bachelor of Science Degrees in Social Work and Sociology. LuAnn coordinates the National Nurse Aide Testing Assessment Program for South Dakota. As Director of Public Relations & Professional Development, she also coordinates the SDHCA Dakota MasterWorks Art Show, Century Club, and other community outreach efforts. LuAnn is also responsible for the SDHCA Video Library and serves as a resource for Inservice Training Coordinators for finding various educational materials.

  • Sarah Ewing, Executive Assistant

    Sarah EwingSarah is a graduate of the University of South Dakota. Sarah supports the SDHCA Staff, coordinates the SDHCA Membership Directory, works closely with the Spring Institute and Fall Convention Exhibitors, and maintains the SDHCA web page. She is also responsible for the SDHCA Survey Database development and the SDHCA Newsletters and the SDHCA Update coordination.
